The End of… well, everything
It seems that lately, the world is coming to an end – There are wars, rumors of war, civil unrest, and just general craziness. Especially here in Tennessee. After hurricane Ike, the oil pipeline that supplies our gas went down to 20% of it’s normal capacity due to a refinery being damaged. It’s been mass hysteria around Nashville lately. The local news outlets first started getting reports of high prices, then of stations being out of gas, and they relayed the information (which was good).
People were already scared enough with all the things going on though, things like the subprime mortgages going away and the IndyMac bank failing, and they started freaking out. People were filling up everything they could find – Cars, boats, gas cans, coffee cans, even coffee cups. Yeah, it was crazy, and it didn’t take long for all the stations in the area to run out completely. Like, no gas in Nashville. At all.
That, of course, made national news. And when someone sees their city on national news, they pay attention. So Joe Nashville is like “oh my gosh, Read the rest of this entry »
