Currently attending Middle Tennessee State University College of Mass Communication, intending to graduate May 2013 with a Bachelors of Science, Mass Communication. Major concentration in advertising and public relations and a minor in art. Admitted with honors and awarded the institution’s Presidential Scholarship. Completed five semesters while maintaining dean’s list status and a 3.68 GPA. Courses taken include Advertising Copywriting, Advertising Campaigns, Media Writing, Visual Language, Design, Advertising Management, Advertising Media Planning Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and News Web Design as well as one hour of internship credit.

March 2012 – present: Student Advertising Manager, MTSU Sidelines & The Daily News Journal. Worked closely with both MTSU Sidelines and the Daily News Journal’s advertising sales team to locate, develop, and nurture contacts interested in advertising with MTSU Sidelines, the student newspaper of Middle Tennessee State University. Handled multiple points of interaction, from cold calls to requests for information.
August 2011 – May 2012: Public Relations Officer for MTSU Swing Dance Club. Helped to rebuild awareness of the club by redesigning the club website, creating and managing a Facebook page, revamping the email newsletter, and developing a promotional campaign while operating on a limited budget.
June 2009 – present: Lifeguard, Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department. Part of a team responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable swimming environment by inspecting the facility for damage, performing regular maintenance, enforcing rules, providing first aid, answering phones, and keeping logs of water quality and facility usage. Maintained a professional image through training, punctuality and alertness.
August 2011 – present: Student Worker, Marketing and Communications Department, Middle Tennessee State University. Assist with various projects including web design and coding, photography, copywriting, graphic design, video editing, social media monitoring, video production, and other duties as presented. Helped develop and promote the university’s more innovative social media endeavors, including Pinterest and Foursquare.
